Post 1,538: Day 77/365

My daughter has been talking about having a birthday party at Barnes and Noble for over a year. A few months ago I finally got around to calling them to see if this was a possibility. I was pleasantly surprised to learn that it was! We planned the party around a book we love called Her Right Foot by Dave Eggers and had fun with the State of Liberty theme. The children’s book specialist read the book and made it incredibly interactive – asking a ton of questions and expanding on the info in the book. The kids LOVED it. Afterwards, they all made cardboard torches and wore Statue of Liberty hats. It was an AMAZING party! And we had a ton of Barnes and Noble shoppers stop over to tell us how adorable it was, and how fun they thought it was to have a party in the store. I have to agree. 🙂

  1. Ah, this is such a great idea! I’m struggling right now to find some place for G’s bday party. I don’t think he’d go for a B&N party, but it’s a challenge to find something just right for him. I wish this was more up his alley!

    1. I know what you mean! It’s tough to come up with party ideas. I know I could always just have the party at my house but I kind of hate the idea of a bunch of kids in my house in the middle of March. One of the best things about it being at B&N was it was free. I only paid for the cost of the food I ordered from the cafe. I think the total cost ended up being around $70. And since there were a fairly small number of kids I was able to afford a small gift card for each one as a party favor. Easy Peasy! 🙂
